Going Modern
Modern homes are still outnumbered in Atlanta, but with the explosion and growth
our sophisticated Southern city is experiencing, residents are starting to seek
modern design for both diversity and forward-thinking technology.
Urban Dwell often applies the principle phrase “form follows function,” a credo
coined by American sculptor Horatio Greenough and adopted by architect Louis Sullivan
who brought popular momentum to its meaning in 20th Century design. This philosophy
suggests that the shape of a building or object be predicated by or based on its
intended function or purpose. Completely honoring style once exhausting all means
to generate true function in the structure’s footprint is one of the ways we differ
from common practice.
